In the interests of actually getting this forum started, I figured I'd start this thread!
My name is Lenora and I play Professor Roibin Vespers! I'm a 20 year old graphic design major whose a few weeks into her junior year (in fact, I'm writing this in my Art History class, as Mycenaean ((thank God for spell check)) art isn't *that interesting*). ETA: okay I take that back, they're pretty clever, and I'd have killed myself trying to make those buildings.
I go to school at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and I make a godawfully long commute every morning from my parents' house just so I don't have to live in the dorms away from my cats.
Speaking of cats, here's the part where I name all seven of my pets. Yes, seven. Is it any wonder that I love Care of Magical Creatures? I have five cats: Jet, Sarah, Darius, Nessarose, and Camille. My two dogs are Ebony and Dutch (he was named that when we got him, and he refused to respond to Hagrid--much sadness).
I've been writing for years, but I've only gotten good in the past few years. When I started writing, I had a Super Saiyan Jedi character named Phoenix Starrfyre. So whenever you feel like your character might be a Mary Sue, just remember: it can't get any worse than what I've already done myself.
As you can probably tell at this point, I love to talk. At least when I have enough Sudafed and Exedrin in me to kill most mortals. my excessive talking is why I originally wanted to be a lawyer. Then I actually started pre-Law, and after later trying to kill myself by slamming my head in with my 50 pound (perhaps a *slight* exaggeration, but only slight) Law textbook, I decided art would be much more relaxing even if it did involve me getting yelled at for somehow managing to glue my hand to a bin of photo chemicals (still haven't figured out how that happened, and to be honest? I don't even want to know).
So now that I've blathered on about nothing of value, it's your turn to introduce yourself to the group!

I remember art history class...... sorda... I fell asleep through most of it.
Ya'll know me enough to know that my name's Cassie and I too am in college... I'm 21 and working my way to getting to be a pro at comic books... hopefully a self-published one or ten ^^;; Huge fan of Harry Potter (REALLY!? I BET YOU WOULDN'T HAVE GUESSED) I actually have this huge love of Herbology (guess no one would have really guessed that), and actually am trying to get some of that awesome stuff done in my house... except maybe without the awesome thought of Hogwarts over my head.
I started off as an engineering major actually... and then I went as follows:
"YAAAAAAY ENGINEERING ENGINEERING ROCKS YAAAA-... oh......... there's some calculus involved in that, isn't there?......... *pout*"
Am also graphic designer, but have since veered from posters and t-shirts a slight bit (though designing t-shirts is tre' awesome)
I also have a slight fascination with Japan.... if you couldn't tell, both Rena and Haru are of Japanese descent to some extent, though I will otherwise keep my Japanophileness to myself. It is Hogwarts after all...
Other than Harry Potter, I actually love Pokemon, Dollhouse, the Guild (webseries of awesome), Joss Whedon stuff, Seth Green (hottie), Heroes (Peter fan ... *shame*), and bunches and bunches of other stuff.
Also, Shadow and I know each other IRL.

'Ello! I'm Shadow. Yep, we go to school together. Both graphic design majors, though I also had a very indecisive history with majors. "Yay interior design! No, wait, psychology! Gah, computer science! ...Damn it, I like art, I'll be a designer." I should have graduated last semester, but decided that I wanted to take some more art classes to fill out a portfolio and an entrepreneurial class so that I might start a business. I'll be graduating in December.
I live in Penfield, New York and commute about twenty minutes to school so it's not horrible. I plan to move to Boston within the next few years, though, because I think it's a beautiful city (albeit expensive). For the time being, however, I am living with my parents to keep costs down and then will hopefully get an apartment in the near future to finally strike out on my own. I also have one cat, approximately two years old, named Katie. I would love a husky, but Katie doesn't get along with other animals at all. *pouts*
I started roleplaying when I was thirteen, so about nine years ago. I have the ridiculous tendency to overwhelm myself with too many characters (like the horrifying 24 on another Harry Potter board), so for this one I'm limiting myself to the three I have now (Bella, Bianca, and Callista), and will possibly up it to five later on. But that's it! I'm not committing RPG suicide this time!
I also love Harry Potter (duh!), though I'm a bigger fan of the universe as a whole than the specific books (if that makes any sense... I like to make my own stories based in her universe instead of rereading the books). I'm a huge fan of Joss Whedon (Firefly, Buffy, and Dollhouse ftw!), Heroes, Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle in particular), Johnny Depp (he is a sexy man!), The Sims games, the Final Fantasy games, the Kingdom Hearts games, Shin Megami Tensei games (specifically the Persona series), forum roleplaying, puzzle books, and Broadway musicals (I've seen Hairspray, Avenue Q, Wicked, Spelling Bee, Jersey Boys, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mamma Mia, and The Producers, and would like to see RENT and Spring Awakening).

Wewt~
I'm Kat. I'm sixteen, and since I've been homeschooled since the fourth grade (our school system sucks so hard), I've tested out of twelfth grade, so by the state's records I am technically out of high school. The tests I took were the really easy ones, though, so it's not all that impressive.
I'm waiting to start college until I am eighteen or nineteen, so in the meantime I'm doing correspondence high school courses and looking into the local community college for a few classes (I'm thinking automotive maintenance and web design, at the least). As for when I do hit the right age, I've got a few liberal arts colleges singled out, as well as the state university (surprisingly quality and cheap, bestill my heart!). I want to be an English or Creative Writing major (I'd go graphic design to fit in with the crowd here, but I'd honestly be a truly terrible artist).
You might have guessed, but Lenora and Maddie are friends of mine. Not IRL (that would be geographically difficult), but I've known them online for ages. Just to warn you: Lenora has been known to bite, and Maddie's a big bully. (If you don't believe me, I'm sure she'll prove it by posting here to protest that she isn't and why do I keep saying that :P)
As for likes...well, first off, I'm a huuuge Joss Whedon fan. Buffy, Angel, Firefly/Serenity, Dollhouse, Dr. Horrible - love 'im. Other likes include Harry Potter (duh), The Daily Show and Colbert Report, Neil Gaiman, Star Wars, Batman, Eddie Izzard, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Kevin Smith, Monty Python, Watchmen, and just generally geeky things.
I've been roleplaying for...I'd say three or four years? I tend to overload myself with characters too (the reason I haven't made student characters yet is because I'm still trying to narrow it down so I'm not playing like seven characters), but I'm trying to break myself of that.

I... did not see this one. So here I go was an introduction.
I am Maddie, very old and I live way down south in South Africa. I am a full time student once more, doing my post grad qualification in Industrial Psychology. I have been roleplaying for about five years now and I tend to overwhelm myself with too many characters as well. I will definitely pull it in here, even though the temptation is great.
Like Kat said, I have known her online for yonks and I know Lenora quite well too. As for being a bully... I guess I am! But it is an effective way to get what I want. Especially from Kat. hint*bullyheritsfun*hint
So what else can I tell you? Maeva is going to be one of my first Slytherins ever, so I am looking forward to playing her. I am also a Whedon fan and was also a fan of Charmed (my very first roleplaying was on a Charmed themed board with a battle rpg). I have a dream of going to work in Asia for a year or two and... I think that is it.
Nice to meet everyone!

Okay I suppose I'll hop on this introduction wagging! Call me Lynn, I'm a college gal in Texas and am currently trying (key word trying) to get a book finished and off to the publisher. So. Many. IDEAS! *explodes* I am majoring in Deaf Communications and Interpreting as well as working in the creative writing, archeology, and theater programs.
I've been roleplaying since I was ten (yes I'm a bad girl who suck on under age =3) but I just love to write in general. I tend to stress out easily XD but really who doesn't in this age! I find solace in reading and writing. I currently live with my family -as I don't want to leave my puppy and live in a dorm-
I love animals and creatures of all kinds (besides spiders, I am petrified of spiders) but wolves are my all time fav.....uh...lets see, I tend to over do it with characters -the most I've ever played was 37 on a warrior's form-
Hopefully I've rambled about myself enough.
*wave* So yea, hi everyone!
