Birthday: February 14
Ethnicity: Germanic (Prussian)
Bloodline: Pureblood
Current Residence: A flat just off of Diagon Alley
~+Physical Statistics+~
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 152 pounds
Hair Color and Style: Roi has wavy, shoulder-length dirty blonde hair.
Eyes: Very bright blue and often very vacant looking
Face: Roi's face is very honest and open, but often accompanied by a vacant look. Not that many people see it as its often hidden behind a book.
Figure: Roibin is awkwardly tall and thin with long spindly fingers and long stork-like legs.
Tattoos, Scars, and Distinguishing Features: He has rather pronounced dark circles under his eyes.
Jewelry: Roibin has a very old silver ring, which bears the coat of arms of Prussia.
Clothing Style: Despite his young age, Roibin tends to wear loose fitting clothing usually intended for people three times his age. His sleeves almost always come down passed his fingertips, and he almost constantly wears gloves.
~+Personality Statistics+~
Interaction: Roibin has a...rather curious interaction with his students and peers. While he's very friendly and kind-hearted, he's also easily distracted and prone to ramble. He isn't the best at picking up social cues and tends to dominate any conversation without intended to. The young professor isn't the best at determining whether or not people actually like him and practically has to be punched in the face by someone before he realizes that a person doesn't appreciate his company. FOr these reasons, most people tend towards avoiding him. The Centaurs are an exception, as they actually seem to have a clue what he's speaking about most of the time. The few times he gets angered or frustrated, he tends towards ranting and flailing his hands in dramatic ways and has been known to accidentally hit innocent bystanders in his frenzy.
Inner Being: Roibin is usually alone when not teaching. He loves spending his afternoons in the Library or on the grounds. He finds spending time around his animals much more comforting than spending time around people. Humans are far too complicated.
Intelligence: Roibin is highly intellectual, often to the detriment of his emotional sensibilities. He was the most studious Ravenclaw in his graduating class, and set some of the highest marks for years to come in certain subjects. Roibin has a memory like a steel-trap and often remembers completely irrelevant details years later. His practicality is lacking, however, and he's wary of trying spells for the first time no matter how much knowledge he has of them.
Fears: Roibin is afraid of being alone for his whole life. He doesn't even necessarily desire a romantic relationship. He's never had a true friend, and his greatest fear is going thorugh life without ever being close to someone.
Goals: Roibin is easily distracted and his goals tend to change every year. His most steadfast desire of the moment is to one day be Head of Ravenclaw.
Good Characteristics: Intelligent, eager to please, kind-hearted, judicious, honest, rational, studious, gentle, curious
Bad Characteristics: Anxious, impatient, oblivious, socially awkward, can be vindictive, holds a grudge, easily distracted and excitable, clingy
Secrets: After graduating from Hogwarts, he became intensly depressed and began a drug habit. His older siblings eventually pulled him out of it after he almost died and only they and the doctor know about any of it.
Likes: Reading, animals, walking in the Forbidden Forest, Muggle bicycles, foods that require only a quick warming charm or a box that says "just add water", candy
Dislikes: Potion smells, escapist fiction, people who don't know what they're talking about, imperfect sciences, irrationality, being out of control
~+Abilities and Possessions+~
Special Abilities: Roibin has an eidetic memory.
Magical Strengths: Roi was exceptionally good at Charms, Care of Magical Creatures, and Herbology. He was exceptional at History of Magic, being one of the few who actually listened in Binns' class.
Magical Weaknesses: He took Arithmancy and promptly dropped it, finding it too linear for his frantic thoughts. He never got the finer points of Transfiguration. He did more than well enough on the written portions of exams, but his practical attempts were borderline dismal. The same could be said of Potions: while he could memorize a formula like no one else, his ability to stay focused long enough on the task at hand wasn't good enough. He is not only dismal but utterly terrified of flying.
Other Abilities: Roibin can function in the Muggle world, but he doesn't have enough knowledge to actively interact with muggles. Unless its a dicussion about bicycles. Then he could go on for hours.
Wand Properties: 13 inches, birch, fairy wing core, swishy
Possessions: Roibin possesses a collapsible trunk which allows him to carry around the veritable library of books he reads each week.
~+History and Family Information+~
Family: Roibin comes from a long line of purebloods whose origins can be traced back to the dawning of the Holy Roman Empire. His father Grigori Vespers was a shrewd businessman, and Roibin's half-brother Morfran has taken the reigns of his father's empire and is expanding it greatly. Roibin's three half-sisters Tristessa, Naenia, and Lamia all work within Morfran's merchant company. Roibin's mother Aveira passed away only two years ago from a degenerative disease. The situation within the Vespers family is very complicated. After Grigori's first wife (the mother of his first four children) became an invalid due to an accident, he promptly divorced her and married her sister. This means that not only are Roibin, Morfran, Tristessa, Naenia, and Lamia all siblings, but also makes them all cousins.
Pets: Roibin keeps a Kneazle and a Fennec Fox at his flat.
History: Roibin was born in Berlin, Germany on Valentine's Day. The first child of Aveira and the fifth child of Grigori, Roibin always had a strained relationship with his parents. His father felt he already had the necessary heir in Roibin's older brother Morfran, and his mother Aveira felt that being a mother was beneath her. Thankfully, his older half-siblings held none of the animosity towards him that they held towards their step-mother. His much older brother and his oldest sister Tristessa were his primary caregivers until Roibin was sent off to Hogwarts, as Grigori had grown to be so resentful of the boy that he couldn't stand to send him to his own alma mater of Durmstrang. Despite his limited knowledge of the English language, Roibin was accepted and promptly sorted into Ravenclaw.
Roibin picked up all of his courses quickly, especially those which required more written than practical work. He surprised several professors--no more than Professor Binns himself, at least as much as a ghost can be surprised--by taking a great liking to history. His grades were always quite good with the exception of Transfiguration, which was only mediocre.
His intense study habits and eccentric nature had its downside: Roibin had very few friends. Of the few friends he had, one was a Quidditch player who never had a bad word for anyone. Roibin developed a very intense crush on the boy, and was rather heartbroken when, in their seventh year, this friend proposed and became engaged to the Head Girl at the time. Roibin had been somewhat depressed then, but it got much worse after that. After he graduated and his few friends drifted away from him, this intensified and became destructive. shortly after his mother's death, his older brother discovered Roibin's drug addiction, and quite violently forced him into a rehabilitation program. Roibin no longer takes any drugs, despite the fact that he could really use a few to balance out his emotional and mental discord.
After he left his rehabilitation program, he went on a four year expedition in the wildest, most unexplored areas of the magical world in order to document the habits of rarer or previously unstudied magical creatures. This trip resulted in his publication of two books, including an in-depth observation, documentation, and catalouging of the vicious Nundu. These publications caught the eye of those at Hogwarts, and he was offered the job of Care of Magical Creatures professor. After some thought, he accepted and returned to the United Kingdom and Hogwarts for the first time since his graduation.

Classroom Description: The Care of Magical Creatures classroom is located at the southern end of the castle adjacent to the grounds. It has large, open archways as windows and no real door. Instead of traditional desks, there are wooden chairs, enough to hold at least two Houses of one year, arranged in an oval around the room. In front of the room is a very sturdy oak desk marred with claw-like gashed and covered in various strange bottles and restraining devices. Behind this desk are equally solid shelves, bulging with books involving various exotic species of animal. Some of the books seem to twitch. Peruse them at your own risk.
Office Description: Professor Vespers' office is as chaotic and disorganized as his mind. Piles of papers teeter dangerously on his desk, awaiting a haphazard yet accurate grading. Bookshelves which have seen better years creak dangerously under the wait of hundreds of old and well-read tomes. A chair sits behind the desk, but it looks barely used. Instead there is a threadbare path dug into the floor rug: the sign of the restless instructor's pacing. Several empty cages in tanks are scattered about the room; one of them seems bent and the door latch is broken. Perhaps, this explains all the scratches on the furniture?

(This is a roleplay from a fairly dead site based around an insane asylum)
Group therapy. Letting the crazies out to play as he called it. Dr. Crane allowed his eyes to glance over the file updates that the nurses had filled out for him. They were never particularly good at recording these things. As with most things, St. Christina's had the dregs of the nursing profession here as well. The only reason both himself and Dr. McCrae were here because they both volunteered for it, though for very different reasons. While Dara's goal was rehabilitation, Dorian was rather curious to see how far the inmates could be pushed. It wasn't exactly ethical of course...but it wasn't as if anyone ever came to check on them. St. Christina's inmates were the absolute worst that insanity could create. A patient could most likely kill every inmate on his or her floor without the government health boards raising an eyebrow.
Dara would care of course. Dorian didn't know why. Only a few of these people were even partially interesting and fewer of them were worth keeping alive. But he had to keep all of them alive, unfortunately. Silly medical ethics.
He strode along on spindly legs around the room, checking the appropriate restraints on every chair. While the ensuing chaos would be hilarious to Dorian, he wasn't about to be held responsible for the injuries to the nurses and security officers. He glanced up as he heard the shuffling and muffled yelling.
Braeden was not pleased in the least. He'd been woken from one of his more pleasant dreams involving escaping the institute. He was sure he'd seen Dr. Crane after escaping but as he was approaching him in his dream, the security guard roughly pulled him out of his bed by the scruff of his neck. He was not a puppy dammit! Okay so maybe he made some rather infantile yelping noises after being woken, but still!
He'd gave up struggling as they actually approached the group room, instead folding his arms across his chest and pouting. He was severely underweight though, so despite all his dead weight being applied, the security guard moved him easily. In fact, he picked him so far up off the ground when sitting him in his chair that his feet momentarily dangled. He made a slight whimpering noise in the back of his throat and flailed.
"Put him down," Dorian stated coolly to the guard. The guard unceremoniously dropped Braeden onto the chair and roughly tightened the restraints on his wrists. Dr. Crane glared at the guard, who smirked a bit smugly at the doctor. All the guards knew Braeden was his favorite. He was sure that's why they liked to make his life miserable.
He took one glance back at a pouting Braeden, as the other patients and Dr. McCrae began to file in.
